For the Americas the road to Rugby World Cup 2027 starts in July. Canada, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay will all play home test matches as part of the 2024 July Internationals.
The USA will play in Chicago against Romania and in Washington, DC against Scotland. Canada will face the same two in reverse order. Scotland will subsequently fly south to complete an historic four test match tour of the Americas. Never before has a Tier 1 team toured Canada, USA, Chile and Uruguay for four test matches.
Rugby World Cup 2023 Semi Finalists Argentina will play host to a two-match-series against France. Los Pumas’ third match in July will be a rare road fixture; Argentina are to cross the Rio de la Plata to take-on Los Teros.
Uruguay’s July 2024 fixtures list is historic; three big name opponents will take to the field at the Estadio Charrúa. Uruguay are to face France Development (France A), Argentina and Scotland. The second and third of these fixtures are to be capped test matches.
Chile will follow up their Rugby World Cup debut in 2023 by playing a three-match home series. Los Cóndores have traditionally struggled to secure home matches. July 2024 will see Chile taking-on Belgium, Scotland and Hong Kong.
World Cup expansion from 20 to 24 teams means there are teams hopeful of debuting at Australia 2025. Brazil and Paraguay are South American examples while Belgium is a European example and Hong Kong is Asia’s most likely World Cup newcomer. Brazil is confirmed as facing Belgium and Hong Kong while Paraguay is expected to also play host to both.
