The Jets traded up in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft to pick Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley.

The Jets traded with the Carolina Panthers. In exchange for the top pick in the third round, 65th overall. In exchange, the Jets gave up their own third round pick, 72nd overall, and the fifth round pick acquired last night in the trade with the Minnesota Vikings, 157th overall.

Many analysts figured the Jets would use their top two selections at offensive tackle and wide receiver respectively. That is exactly what happened. The Jets picked Olu Fashanu, a tackle out of Penn State, in the first round. Corley is a wide receiver. One might expect that Corley will play a role different from a traditional receiver. Most of his production came off screens so the Jets could manufacture touches for him in space.
