Jannik Sinner’s coach confesses what the young Italian needs to improve

on

In an exclusive interview given to the Italian portal OA Sport, coach Simone Vagnozzi focused on the aspects on which Jannik Sinner will try to work further, in order to continue growing. “From a technical point of view I think we can improve with the serve. Even if he has served very well in the last period, the runs to the net can become safer, the backhand slice can be played with more confidence in certain situations. All this can help him to work a little less, to sometimes slow down the game a little and to change pace, and then above all in my opinion he can still improve in the tactical part of the game, so he is putting all these things together and it takes some time,” explained Sinner’s coach

Meanwhile Sinner prepares for Melbourne

Sinner’s 2024 will begin at the Kooyong Classic. The Italian tennis player, unlike other seasons, chose not to participate in any official tournament before the Australian Open. The well-known exhibition event will be the only commitment a few days before the first Slam of 2024. However, Sinner will be able to compete against important opponents to test his conditions and put fundamental minutes into his legs. In fact, players such as Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, Frances Tiafoe, Andy Murray, Karen Khachanov and Stan Wawrinka will take to the court. The competition will take place from 10 to 12 January, but details on the order of play have not yet been revealed. The 22-year-old has now shown that he can beat anyone and the expectations ahead of the Australian Slam are very high. The Italian carried out part of the preparation in Alicante together with his compatriot Luca Nardi, who will be chasing the main draw in the qualifying tournament. We recall in this second part of the season, Jannik was able to beat all the best players of the Planet: Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Holger Rune.
