A former Slam reveals the best skill of Jannik Sinner

on

The former Italian player Francesca Schiavone granted an interview for Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport during the Lombardia Awards. Among the topics covered by the former Roland Garros winner, the main one concerns the young Italian talent Jannik Sinner, an athlete ready for the definitive leap of quality. Schiavone praised her young countryman, highlighting his mental strength and his sense of work. “He has just begun his growth, especially at the level of the Top-5 of the ATP ranking. Today is the time to reach the top, not just to become No.1. The NextGen have arrived, there’s Sinner, Holger Rune and Carlos Alcaraz. Then there is the middle generation, with Daniil Medvedev who has already been there for a few years. Then obviously the goal is to win a Slam, which is the best thing for a country like Italy. Young players? We need very specific education for girls, different work has been done on men but it must also be done with girls. Sinner did a great job. Adriano Panatta was No. 4, I was also No. 4 in the WTA ranking, now the time has come to break the ice and move on to better positions. The most beautiful thing about Jannik is the ability to understand that he is growing, I spent a week with him and Jannik absolutely does not feel like he has arrived, he feels like he is at the beginning of a journey, we have to stay with him and wait for the arrival of new gifts,” explained Schiavone.

And Sinner will try to get a great goal since the Australian Open 2024

Sinner is currently going through the preparation phase for the new season, then from Spain he will fly to Australia and right there – perhaps at the next Australian Open – he will immediately try to find his first spark in a Grand Slam tournament.  The ATP Tour is currently on hold but there is always time to talk about Jannik Sinner. The Italian No.1 and No.4 in the ATP world ranking was undoubtedly among the absolute protagonists of this second part of the season and all the fans expect a further step forward in 2024. Sinner has achieved new successes and now the next step is the Slam tournaments, a goal that he must significantly get closer to. It’s obvious that expectations grow with victories, but Jannik is a tennis player who has an extra value: a sense of work.
