Jannifer Capriati rips Lindsay Davenport over comments on her late father: ‘False’

Jennifer Capriati didn’t appreciate at all comments Lindsay Davenport reportedly made about her late father Stefano on air as she took to X to call out Davenport and highlight that she was left stunned and in disbelief over what she had heard.

Davenport, a former three-time Grand Slam champion, has been working as a tennis commentator and analyst for Tennis Channel for quite some time. On Wednesday, former world No. 1 Davenport was in the booth when she reportedly made some comments about Capriati’s late father Stefano.

While Stefano played a huge role in Capriati’s success, it is not a secret that he didn’t enjoy the best of reputation within the tennis community as even during Capriati’s playing days he was often accused of using his daughter for his own benefit.

On X, Capriati tagged both Davenport and Tennis Channel and wrote: “I can’t believe what I just heard being said about my father. I can’t let my father’s memory be slandered any longer. My father was the most loving, kind, supportive, beautiful father a daughter could ask for. He was adored and loved by everyone.”

Capriati calls out Davenport: It’s shockingly hurtful and false

In another post, Capriati appeared to suggest that Davenport compared her father Stefano to the fathers of Jelena Dokic and Mary Pierce – both Dokic and Pierce accused their fathers of physical abuse in the past. Addressing that, Capriati described it as “shockingly hurtful and false.”

“I grieve my father’s passing to this day, and to hear his memory and character be assassinated and compared to Pierces, Dokics father is outrageously false, and defamatory. @LDavenport76 I’ve heard this several times now, and it’s shockingly hurtful and false,” Capriati added.

Meanwhile, Stefano passed away in 2015 after losing his battle with cancer. At the time of his death, Stefano was 80.
