Here is what the Dallas Cowboys are getting in Justin Rogers.

The Dallas Cowboys have officially wrapped up their 2024 draft class by selecting DT Justin Rogers with the 244th overall pick. Rogers secured 77 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and four sacks in four seasons between Auburn and Kentucky.

Rogers stands at 6’3” and weighs 330 pounds, giving the Cowboys’ defensive line a big body to use in the middle. Early in his collegiate career he was impactful in defending the run at Kentucky, being used as a 1-technique defensive tackle. In Auburn, he didn’t play as much and struggled to find consistency.

The Cowboys lost DT Johnathan Hankins in free agency to the Seattle Seahawks, leaving a hole in their run defense heading into the draft. Despite waiting until the seventh round to address the defensive tackle position, Rogers provides a big body that can be on the field in run-defense situations. He plays with great leverage, is hard to move off the ball, and has strong hands at the point of attack.

This completes a draft class for the Cowboys which heavily addressed their offensive and defensive line, spending five picks at these positions. The Cowboys are hoping to be stronger up front, after losing several starters in free agency. They need to control the trenches and have a better run defense. They hope Rogers is a piece of getting that accomplished.
