Mock drafters appear to be convinced the New York Giants will select a game-changing wide receiver with pick No. 6 in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With less than a week to go before Giants’ GM Joe Schoen has to make a real first-round selection for the Giants, 43 of 59 mock drafts (72.9%) in this week’s tracker have the Giants selecting a wide receiver.

Malik Nabers of LSU is the top choice, selected in 21 mock drafts (35.6%). Rome Odunze was selected 15 times (25.4%) and Marvin Harrison Jr. of Ohio State was chosen seven times (11.9%).

During Thursday’s pre-draft press conference, Schoen acknowledged that the Giants need to score more points in 2024 and that a top-tier wide receiver could help them do that.

“It can really help you out. Especially the way we’re constructed now,” Schoen said. “Jalin Hyatt can take the top off, Wan’Dale [Robinson] working in the slot. I think you can really see what he was able to do late in the season when he was finally healthy, and Darius Slayton has been uber-consistent during his time.

“If you add another wide receiver there, whether it’s in the top 10 or later in the draft, because of the depth of the class, I do think it gives you options. And it’s going to help the offense in general.

We have to score more. At the end of the day, we need to score more points. And adding a, if it’s a number one receiver, whatever you want to call it, just a better receiving weapon is going to help everybody.”
