Gangrel helps Adam Copeland win a bloody battle with Malakai Black

Triller TV

Malakai Black made it his mission to destroy Adam Copeland’s good guy facade, spraying him with the mist we’ve seen corrupt wrestlers like Julia Hart in the past. The House of Black leader also stole Copeland’s wedding ring.

The mission has been pretty successful. It led to Cope itching a barbed wire steel cage match at AEW Double or Nothing for his TNT title, and agreeing to join the House if he loses. But it also led to the Rated R Superstar pouring “blood” all over Malakai on last week’s Dynamite, and threatening to take over the House on Collision last night.

Tonight (May 26) in Las Vegas for the PPV, it meant the former Edge coming out to his old Brood entrance from WWE. Really, the only thing missing was the Oakleys.

It wasn’t the same kind of blood bath Black got on Dynamite, but it didn’t take long for both men to don a crimson mask. In addition to the barbed wire on the wall of and at the top of the cage to prevent escapes (or make them as painful as possible), the ring was filled with plunder — much of it wrapped in barbed wire as well.

Eventually, Copeland wrapped Malakai onto a table with barbed wire, climbed to the top of the cage, and hit an elbow drop from there onto Black (it almost looked like he landed on his feet, but if he did any damage to his legs it didn’t seem to hinder him for the rest of the match).

Somehow, there were more big shots to be traded after that. A kick sent Copeland through the cage door to the floor, but when Black followed he ate a Spear. That brought House of Black’s Brody King and Buddy Matthews out. They executed a very good tease, pretending to join the champ against Malakai before leveling him and dragging him into the ring.

There, they wrapped the Rated R Superstar in barbed wire and held him up for the finishing blow. But then the lights went red, something happened to King, and Gangrel clawed his way up through the canvas! Buddy & Brody got Impalers…

…but Malakai took out the old vampire with a kick.

He was wide open for a Spear from the (still covered in barbed wire) Cope. The champ put a barbed wire crown on Malakai’s head before slapping on the crossface. Black passed out, and the TNT title stays with Copeland.

Gangrel gave a fanged smile as the cage was raised, then he and his former disciple hugged before Gangrel helped Copeland limp to the back.
