FNC vs VIT – LEC 2024 Spring Playoffs – it’s going to be close

Fnatic and Team Vitality have each had their own struggles throughout the winter split but it looks like two have been bouncing back lately. Despite losing in the upper bracket to G2 and BDS respectively, both teams have had convincing performances in the losers’ bracket. FNC held their mental against TH to get the win while Team Vitality looked strong against MDK.

For the French squad, Photon has been the star of the roster, as he showed his proficiency on Twisted Fate in the series against MDK. The top laner has been consistently delivering and he’s going to be one of the key elements of the series. Drafts will matter, especially in a Bo5, and he has the champion pool to get an edge in the top lane.

On the other hand, Fnatic will likely have to rely on Razork and Noah to win the games. The Spanish jungler will have to play around his bot laner, hoping he can get into a position to carry the game. Based on what we’ve seen so far, they are the two to watch out for in this series.

Early-game snowball vs Teamfighting

While the in-game plans may change depending on how the two teams draft going into the series, we have seen two different playstyles from the two teams. Team Vitality is a lot more proactive and looks to get early leads by utilizing Hylissang and Daglas as enablers for the team. Making early roams and playing through quick rotations is what allowed VIT to beat MDK in the last series.

Fnatic, instead, focuses more on playing a slower game and building their wins through the teamfights. They choose scaling champions and slow the game down to get an advantage later on. It’s an effective strategy that works, especially with the rise of ADCs like Jinx, Zeri, and others.

With that in mind, it’s not easy to make a prediction since both teams have clear strengths. It will ultimately come down to who can execute more of their own playstyle on the day. Team Vitality have looked on a roll last time out, though, and their proactivity can be problematic to FNC. For that reason, I believe VIT to be favored coming into this series.
