Ferrari reveals red and blue SF-24 livery for Miami

on

As announced by the Scuderia last week, Ferrari is embracing a splash of blue for the upcoming Miami Grand Prix, marking a special occasion with a unique livery and a nod to their rich history in North America.

To commemorate its 70 years of presence on the North American continent, the Italian outfit is stepping away from their its red for a one-off design featuring two shades of blue: Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino.

But the choice is more than just aesthetics; it’s a journey back in time.

The blue hues pay homage to the Ferrari-affiliated North American Racing Team (N.A.R.T.) which raced in blue and white during the final two races of the 1964 season in the United States and Mexico.

Additionally, blue overalls were a staple for Ferrari mechanics throughout the 60s, 70s, and 80s, further solidifying the color’s association with the team’s legacy.

The blue infusion also welcomes the arrival of Ferrari’s new title sponsor, Hewlett-Packard. The tech giant’s ogos will be prominently displayed on the SF-24s for the first time, seamlessly integrating with the blue accents of the special livery.

The spirit of blue extends beyond the cars. Both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. will be sporting blue suits for the race weekend, while their helmets will also incorporate the special blue shades, creating a unified and visually striking presence.

“The upcoming Miami Grand Prix will be one to remember in the history of our team, as in Florida we will be celebrating our heritage through a unique livery, rediscovering two colours that are part of our history,” commented Scuderia boss Fred Vasseur.

“It will also be a very special race as we are glad to welcome the arrival of our new title partner HP.

“With so many things in common, we believe that HP’s title partnership will greatly benefit both marques and I can’t wait for us to start working together from this weekend.”
