The CCT Global Finals 2024 have finally come to an end, bringing two years of Counter-Strike in the CCT circuit to a close. Eternal Fire are your champion of champions, taking down Liquid in a thrilling Grand Final.

Eternal Fire take a 3:1 series

The history books will put this down as a 3:1 series win for Eternal Fire. Don’t be fooled – this could (and should) have been a clean 3:0 sweep. Eternal Fire got off to a roaring start in the series, taking the two maps without much resistance from Liquid, who looked a shadow of the team that knocked out Astralis in convincing fashion yesterday. It took overtime on Dust 2 for Liquid to pull a map back, but EF bounced back quickly on Nuke to win the CCT Global Finals 2024.
This victory over Liquid was a reference series for how good XANTARES can be. It’s easy to forget what a force of nature he can be on the server, but Liquid won’t be forgetting this any time soon. Calyx was similarly great, making up for the struggles of young Wicadia. Not to worry, though – we know he’ll bounce back, and luckily, he didn’t cost his team today.
What now for Liquid?

Amid ongoing rumors that Liquid are set to cut cadiaN from the roster, this Grand Final performance will do little to help his case. It certainly wasn’t his best day on the server, but despite this, the CCT Global Finals 2024 won’t be the last we see of him.
With just a few days’ break, Liquid now head to IEM Dallas 2024 knowing it could be their last together as a roster. One last chance to save their spots on the team. Will it be cadiaN who is the sacrificial lamb? YEKINDAR, skullz, even? We’ll have to wait and see, but we think that anything short of a tournament win will see Liquid go ahead with change in some form.
