Hall would add instant depth to the defensive line

Everyone knows the Cincinnati Bengals lost DJ Reader in free agency. But even with Reader, one of the best run-stopping defensive interior linemen in the NFL, the team was going to need more depth at the position after getting gashed on the ground throughout the 2023 season.

Despite adding Sheldon Rankins to the mix, they still need to target the defensive line heavily in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Well, they could be in luck as ESPN’s Jordan Reid has pegged Ohio State’s Michael Hall as a potential Day 2 option.

With the Bengals picking 80 and 97, Hall’s athleticism would make him a great draft pick in that range.

“With great first-step quickness, he would be an immediate answer at 3-technique. Hall’s 2.5-second average time to getting first pressure was the eighth-quickest mark in the FBS last season,” Reid wrote.

Hall spent three seasons with the Buckeyes. His most impactful year was as a sophomore, ending with 7.5 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks. He also had a fumble recovery.

At 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, Hall has the size to stuff the middle, even though he won’t be a true nose tackle like Reader.

Hall was able to spend time at one of the best programs in college football and should be able to carry that success into the NFL, potentially with the Bengals.
