Aside from getting two top-tier CBs on Days 1 and 2, the Eagles getting Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is the feel-good story of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, there were no shortage of storylines to follow, but one that Eagles fans were hoping for actually came true. Howie Roseman traded up into the No. 155 spot in order to nab Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Not only was it exciting that Roseman actually used a draft pick on a linebacker, it was made even better that the LB was the son of an Eagles legend.
Everyone waited to see how this situation would play out, but Trotter Jr. coming home to Philly is the feel-good story of the draft — aside from the Eagles somehow managing to get two of the best CBs at a great value on Day 1 and 2.
The incoming rookie certainly has some developing to do, but he’ll have all the motivation to work hard for a team he’s always loved. Roseman has a tendency to bring in guys who have connections to each other and to the city, but there’s really no comparison to the connection Trotter Jr. has with this team.

The most popular draft prospect in Philadelphia comes to Philadelphia.
Position where there’s a need — a productive college player who just happens to be the son of one the best players in Eagles history.
At this point, the value was too strong to ignore. https://t.co/6aXv2NohHD

The Eagles drafted a LB? Is this real? Took Jeremiah Trotter Jr at pick 155. More of a WLB to me than a MLB, but good playmaker. Athletic and has good range. Good value at this point.

There it is. Jeremiah Trotter Jr. off the board to the Eagles.
Strengths:
Good speed and athleticism
Reads routes well in coverage and closing throwing windows
Good blitzer. Had 28 pressures and 5.5 sacks on 102 pass rush reps in 2023.

The Eagles trading up for Clemson LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr.’s pretty damn cool.

Trotter, 21, is 6-feet and 228 pounds. You won’t be blown away by his timed speed.
He’s been a second-team All-American, first-team All-ACC. Effective blitzer. Terrific instincts.
I’ve used the Nakobe Dean comp. @dpbrugler used T.J. Edwards comp. That’s a great outcome in the…

I said if you’re drafting Jeremiah Trotter Jr., it’s because you hope he can become the success story T.J. Edwards became. So no surprise it’s Philly giving him a shot (plus his dad, of course).

The Jeremiah Trotter Jr. love is SO confusing
Was never a second-rounder, would have been shocked to see him in the third.
However down here? This feels about right. Is he an instant fix? No. But as a low-risk, high-reward player, he makes sense.

Jeremiah Trotter Jr. as an Eagle is elite vibes. So cool. Hits me right in the feels.

Jeremiah Trotter Sr. quoted a common refrain from his dad when asked how he’d feel if his son was drafted by the Cowboys: “We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”
No need to cross that bridge. Trotter Jr. is an Eagle. https://t.co/sgrMDXnLln pic.twitter.com/CR8sDT9bvA
