Discord, the popular communication platform, has recently collaborated with VALORANT to introduce a new line of limited-time agent-themed avatars and profile effects. This partnership comes in celebration of the launch of Clove, the newest controller agent in the game.
You can now find these new cosmetics featured at the top of the store in the Discord client. But here’s the catch – they come with a bit of a hefty price tag. Each one is priced at $15.99, or $11.99 each if you’re a paid Nitro subscriber. Ouch, right?

So, what do you get for that price? Well, there are five animated, thematic avatar decorations. You can get one for Clove, Omen, Reyna, and Jett, plus one that’s based on the in-game ace effect. On top of that, there are also three profile effects; two for Clove and another ace-themed one. So if you’ve already unlocked Clove, you could add their profile effects on Discord to match.
But while some may love to have their favorite agent on their Discord profile, it seems like not everyone is thrilled about this new release. Reddit users have been quick to share their thoughts, and let’s just say they’re not holding back.
Taking to social media platforms, users have commented on the poor quality of the designs. Others commented that they seem like they could have been made quickly for a much lower cost.
It could be that the its the licensing that has increased the price so much. But that’s not much of an excuse in some fan’s eyes. So, it seems like the community isn’t entirely on board with the cost of these new VALORANT-themed avatars and profile effects. The reaction isn’t exactly the most important update from VALORANT is the last couple of days, but perhaps it will leave a bit of a bitter taste.
If you’re a die-hard fan and you’ve got some spare cash to splash, maybe these limited-time cosmetics are right up your alley. But if you’re not convinced, well, you’ve got until May 7th to make up your mind.
