“All black like a funeral. Get used to it.” The best uniform release reactions from Detroit Lions players.

Social media was abuzz on Thursday night, as the world reacted to the Detroit Lions’ 2024 uniform reveal. The event at Ford Field was well-produced, and the general reaction was that the uniforms delivered. But don’t just take my word for it. Check out the reactions from Lions players on social media from Thursday night.

Aidan Hutchinson, posting a set of photos from an earlier shoot, had a simple caption to his Instagram: “Not the same old L̶i̶o̶n̶s̶ uniforms.”

David Montgomery was urging fans to get his jersey while supplies last.

Ifeatu Melifonwu went the emoji route with a ninja and a set of eyes:

While newcomer Amik Robertson seemed to be pretty darn happy with the alternate uniforms:

Moving over to Twitter, Kerby Joseph, who sported the black uniforms live at Ford Field on Thursday night, said he was feeling extra amped with those on.

Fellow defensive back Brian Branch is also a fan of the alternates:

And in case you were thinking about grabbing a Branch jersey but were afraid he may change his number, worry not. He said he’s sticking with 32.

The Lions also got a few positive reactions from a bunch of former Lions. Here’s a taste of those reactions:
