From Joaquin Niemann, the golfer who left the PGA Tour and opted for the LIV Golf, winning the first race of the 2024 Arabian Super League, to Cristobal Del Solar, a professional who achieved a record score in Colombia. Chileans taking the spotlight on the green. Following the 25-year-old from Santiago, Niemann, here comes the 30-year-old from Vina del Mar. Del Solar on the Korn Ferry Tour, the second male US circuit, and in the Astara Golf Championship in Bogota, he closed the round in 57 (-13) strokes. Never before in the history of professional golf on a par 70 course had anyone achieved a similar score. In 2019, in Italy, at the Cervino Open, a stage of the Italian Pro Tour included in the Alps Tour calendar, Englishman David Carey did indeed sign a round of 57 strokes, but eleven (and therefore not thirteen) under par.

Del Solar’s round is also the ninth round under 60 strokes in the history of the Korn Ferry Tour. “I still can’t believe I managed to accomplish this feat, I’m stunned,” said the Chilean. Who has surpassed Jim Furyk and Stephan Jager, whose respective rounds in 58 strokes (-12) at the 2016 Travelers Championship (PGA Tour) and the 2016 Ellie Mae Classic (Korn Ferry Tour) represented until now the record for the main professional tours in the USA.

The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played. They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are the responsibility of the United States Golf Association. An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision is effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance. The rule book, entitled “Rules of Golf”, is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
