Bad news regarding the injury the WWE NXT star suffered at a weekend live event.

Word spread online over the weekend about WWE NXT’s Cora Jade suffering an injury at the brand’s Fri., Jan. 12 house show in Dade City, Florida. There were plenty of speculation about what caused Jade’s match with Lyra Valkyria to end abruptly, and for Cora to eventually need to be helped to the back. But given the number of injury angles NXT’s run of late, we were waiting for someone with sources to go on the record.

That happened this afternoon, when Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer posted on X that Jade has a torn ACL.

Jade had been set to take part in a 20 woman battle royal on tomorrow night’s episode of NXT to determine Valkyria’s challenger for Feb. 4’s Vengeance Day PLE. She’s been pushed as a contender on-screen since returning from a hiatus last month at Deadline, and her working untelevised matches with the champ may have been a sign she was preparing for a title shot.

That would seem to be on-hold for the foreseeable future. Join us in sending the 22 year old best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery, and we’ll let you know what else we hear about her status.
