Danish golfer Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen secured his second title in the span of a month on the Challenge Tour, triumphing at the UAE Challenge with a total score of 274 (-14) at the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Stefano Mazzoli finished 25th with a score of 282 (-6).

The 24-year-old winner from Nivå, a graduate of Oklahoma State University, turned professional ten months ago and previously clinched victory at the Kolkata Challenge in India at the end of March. In the final round, he climbed from fifth place with a stellar 67 (-5), which included seven birdies and two bogeys, surpassing South African Wilko Nienaber, who finished second with a score of 275 (-13), after leading in the third round. Nienaber’s performance played a crucial role in Neergaard-Petersen’s success. Holding a three-stroke lead at the 14th hole, Nienaber faltered with three bogeys in the last four holes (71, -1, including an eagle, three birdies, and four bogeys), ultimately conceding victory to his opponent, who sealed the deal with a decisive birdie on the 17th hole.
Englishman David Horsey secured third place with a score of 276 (-12), while Danish player Hamish Brown and Spanish golfer Joel Moscatel tied for fourth with scores of 277 (-11). In sixth place with scores of 278 (-10) were Finnish golfer Tapio Pulkkanen, Irish golfer Conor Purcell, and French golfer Benjamin Hebert.
Mazzoli, who delivered a solid performance with standout moments in the second and fourth rounds, made his season debut in a year where he will focus more on the Asian Tour. He earned his card at the Qualifying School and has already participated in five tournaments on the Asian Tour. Notably, Gregorio De Leo finished 85th with a score of 146 (+2), Aron Zemmer finished 114th with a score of 148 (+4), and Pietro Bovari finished 118th with a score of 149 (+5), failing to make the cut.
Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen received a prize of 44,752 euros out of a total purse of approximately 275,000 euros (with an official figure of 300,000 dollars). Another victory would directly elevate him to the DP World Tour.
