Brian Cage Has Been Signed With AEW Since January

on

Despite Brian Cage’s wife denying the rumors, Tony Khan confirmed during the post-PPV media scrum that they had signed Brian Cage back in January. Cage had just left Impact when signing with AEW and was still injured at the time. Khan admitted that he knew Cage was injured when he signed him, but felt it was worth the investment.

Brian Cage debuted for AEW last night as a surprise entrant in the Casino Ladder match at Double or Nothing. He went on to win the match and earned an automatic World Heavyweight title match at Fyter Fest. Currently no details have been announced about the date and location of Fyter Fest, but AEW will make an official response this Wednesday on the matter. The biggest reveal is that Taz is going to be managing him.

Cage’s signing was kept secret for months so that he could have a surprise reveal, as we reported back in January.
