Pandering to Eagles fans is so easy…AND WE LOVE IT!

Throughout the NFL Draft in recent years, Roger Goodell has brought up a number of different people to announce picks. Sometimes it’s military members, sometimes it’s kids, sometimes it’s super-fans, and sometimes…it’s former players. When it’s a former player you are often assured of something incredible happening because they do not have to face any repercussions on the field.

On Friday night, Howie Roseman and the Eagles traded up in the second round to pick 40 and recently retired Philadelphia legend Brandon Graham was brought up to announce it. He started off with a bit of pandering to the Detroit, Michigan crowd by cheering “Go Blue” for his alma mater, the defending national champions, and then he quickly switched to an “E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!” chant. But right after that is where it got hilarious.

Please watch the video below if you haven’t already or, hell, even if you have.

“Hey y’all already know…all day…Dallas sucks, all day!”

I’m sure you’ll be able to buy t-shirts with this on it by the time I’m finished writing this sentence, but it was an important thing for him to say and he should say it! For those more interested in what actually happened with the pick, the Eagles traded with Washington. The Birds received pick 40, pick 78, and pick 152, while the Commanders got pick 50, pick 53, and pick 161.

Philadelphia used the 40th pick to take CB Cooper DeJean out of Iowa who had a highly productive career for the Hawkeyes. Are you getting flashbacks of Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown in 2002, because I am!
