on

After two days of crowded leaderboard action at the summit, the rankings shifted at the conclusion of the third round. With eighteen holes remaining in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, Patrick Fishburn and Zac Blair claimed the sole lead, finishing the day with a score of -12 (60 shots) to drop to a total of -23 for the tournament. Former classmates at BYU University, Fishburn and Blair hold a one-shot advantage over Luke List and Henrik Norlander, while the dangerous duo of Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy trail closely at -21.

A windy day in New Orleans added complexity to the plans of the pairs, especially on the Four-ball day where low scores are imperative. Fishburn and Blair, who have been playing golf together since middle school, navigated the conditions adeptly. Fishburn, in particular, made a blazing start with three birdies and an eagle in the first five holes at TPC Louisiana. Climbing ten positions and narrowly missing the course record in this format, the duo now aims for their first PGA Tour victory.

The closest pursuers, List and Norlander at -22, witnessed List’s brilliance as he secured eagles at the second and eleventh holes. Conversely, the all-Northern Irish duo of McIlroy/Lowry started slowly but found their rhythm in the last 12 holes, tallying seven birdies. They are tied for third place at -21 alongside Ryan Brehm and Mark Hubbard, who also carded a 64 on this moving day.

A cluster of pairs at -20 in fifth place is led by Canadians Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin, including Yu/Pan, Lee/Kim, and Echavaria/Greyserman. Closing out the top-10 with a total score of -19 are Detry/McIntyre, Tarren/Skinns, and Johnson/Palmer. It was a disappointing day for tournament favorites Schauffele/Cantlay, both struggling to a 68 that dropped them to -16 and from fifth to 27th place. Sunday evening in Italian time sees the final round unfold, reverting to Foursomes, where the leaderboard could witness significant changes once again. These are the results.
