Austin Peay men’s team was defeated 6-1 by Eastern Kentucky

The Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team was defeated at home by Eastern Kentucky for 6-1.

Now, the Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team prepares for the penultimate week of the regular season when they host Florida Gulf Coast in a game on Friday at 2:00 p.m. before returning to host Stetson on Saturday in a game at 1:00 p.m. Governors Tennis Courts.

Sophomore Giovanni Becchis earned his second straight singles win in as many days, but the Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team lost an ASUN Conference game 6-1 to Eastern Kentucky Sunday at Governors Tennis Courts.

Austin Peay crashed in doubles after losing matches from the top two positions. Sota Minami and Javier Tortajada fell 6-4, from the number 2 line, while Becchis and Tom. Bolton withdrew a 7-5 decision by Court No.

Eastern Kentucky took a 3-0 lead after beating Schaub and Tortajada in straight sets during singles play. The APSU Govs’ lone point came in a 6-4, 6-1 win by Becchis from the No. 2 field. With the win, Becchis moves to 6-6 in singles and 4-2 from the No. 2 field.

With the result already decided, Minami fell in a pair of tight two-game sets, while Bolton dropped a three-set from the No. 3 position.
