Arsenal: Three major recruits for the return to the Champions League

on

Arsenal would have checked the names of three players to improve their team during the summer transfer window. They would evolve in Porto, Barça and Galatasaray.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta already has his sights set on the summer, with the aim of strengthening his squad for the Champions League. The Gunners, comfortably seated in 1st place in the Premier League table, are reportedly preparing to sign three players.

According to information collected by TeamTalk, Pepe, Brazilian winger of FC Porto, is one of the three players tracked by the Londoners. The 26-year-old player, followed by many European clubs, could be released for an amount of around 75 million euros. This season, he has scored 5 goals and delivered 8 assists. The player is able to move on both wings. He would offer interesting competition to Gabriel Martinelli. In England, Chelsea would also be interested.

Arteta would also be eyeing Barcelona and Istanbul

At the same time, Mikel Arteta would like to strengthen his defense with two new elements. Eric Garcia, central defender of Barça, would be on the shelves of Arsenal. Former protege of the Spanish technician at Manchester City, the young 22-year-old player could replace Rob Holding in his role as understudy.

Finally, Sacha Boey, right defender of Galatasaray, would complete this trio of recruitments. The Frenchman has become a key part of the Turkish team. His contract, which runs until 2025, could complicate things. Galatasaray don’t seem inclined to let him go unless Arsenal line up an XXL offer.

Mikel Arteta seems determined to bring depth and quality to his team. The Champions League is indeed considered very trying.

As a reminder, the Gunners are currently 8 points ahead of Manchester City in the English championship standings. Nothing is decided yet, while the Citizens have one game less and there are 10 days left.
