Former American tennis star Mardy Fish suspects Carlos Alcaraz might be dating someone from the WTA Tour after the Spaniard nervously ducked a question when asked about WTA stars he likes to watch.

On Monday, world No. 2 Alcaraz was all business on the court, having dismantled Miomir Kecmanovic 6-4 6-4 6-0 in the Australian Open round-of-16. After the match, Alcaraz was interviewed on the court by ex-Grand Slam champion and American tennis legend Jim Courier.

Alcaraz, who is 20 years old, is already well-known as someone who is fully committed and dedicated to tennis. After Alcaraz´s win over Kecmanovic, Courier selected a bit interesting question for an on-court interview, asking the 20-year-old to reveal the players he likes to watch.

“Men’s, women’s, wheelchair tennis, it doesn’t matter, who are your favorite players to watch when you have spare time?” Courier asked Alcaraz.

“I like to watch every match if I can. But I love watching play Daniil Medvedev, Novak [Djokovic], [Jannik] Sinner as well,” Alcaraz responded.

“Those guys, I like to watch, because every time they step on the court, they put their best level and, as a huge fan of tennis, I like to watch a pretty good, high level. And those are the best players in the world I like to watch.”

Fish: Alcaraz got to be dating someone on the WTA?

But Courier wasn´t giving up, sending a follow-up question for Alcaraz: “I’m going to put you on the spot, what about WTA?”

Responding with a nervous laugh, Alcaraz said: “Well, I watch WTA as well. No, I mean, when I can obviously. When I turn the TV on, if it is WTA, ATP, whatever, I like to watch it obviously.”

Former world No. 7 Fish stumbled upon a video of the interview and reacted: “My man has gotta be dating someone on WTA Tour…??”

Meanwhile, Alcaraz is having a really promising Australian Open run. Through his opening four matches at Melbourne Park, Alcaraz has dropped just one set.

In the Australian Open quarterfinal, Alcaraz will be facing Alexander Zverev. Although Alcaraz has three wins and four losses against Zverev, he is considered the favorite to beat the German and reach his first Australian Open semifinal.
