Alexandre Muller rips and ridicules ATP about anti-doping controls

on

Controversies related to doping cases in tennis constantly generate a lot of controversy.

We saw this with what recently happened to Simona Halep. The Romanian tennis player has received a lot of support and also a lot of criticism, especially from colleagues and former colleagues, such as Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki.

The French tennis player Alexandre Muller, defeated in Barcelona by Casper Ruud, wrote a decidedly polemical post on his social channels against the ATP, shortly after being beaten by the Norwegian player, relating to the issue of doping controls.

Muller published a very particular request (but which is above all a message about himself and the ATP) to the ATP on his page.

“Hi ATP Tour, I don’t know if you know me but I would like the doping checks every week to stop, I wouldn’t lose in the first or second round every week if I was doped, thank you very much,” he wrote.

This is a very particular request, posted on the afternoon of April 17th shortly after being defeated by Ruud.

Muller’s career

In 2023 the French player entered the top 100 for the first time, and won his first and so far only final on the ATP circuit in Marrakech, losing to the Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena.

The French player, currently number 110 in the world rankings but with a best ranking of 71 achieved at the end of January after the Australian Open,

as mentioned he reached an ATP final in 2023 in Marrakech, losing against Baena.

Muller remained a long time in his career playing on the Challenger circuit. This year he was eliminated at the Australian Open by countryman Grenier in the fifth set tie break.

At Indian Wells he survived one round, this time beating Grenier and being eliminated in the second round by Dimitrov, while in Miami he lost in the first round to Kwon.

On the red clay of Monte Carlo he was defeated in the decisive round of the qualifiers by Luca Nardi.
