This show will be available for viewing through Fite TV (as a standalone purchase or part of the Triplemania bundle) as well as media outlets in Mexico.

Hijo del Vikingo started the year strong by winning the Rey de Reyes tournament over Laredo Kid and Texano Jr. in the final.

Unfortunately, Vikingo suffered a serious injury at an indie show. The Mega Champion required surgery. AAA stripped Vikingo of the title and held a qualifier match. Alberto Del Rio was victorious over Psycho Clown and Cibernetico. Psycho speared Cibernetico through a table in the corner, then Alberto swooped in to catch Psycho in an armbar.

Alberto will compete for the AAA Megacampeonato at Triplemania XXXII in Monterrey. AAA is bringing in Nic Nemeth as Alberto’s opponent. The idea is to capture the excitement from Nemeth’s classic Money in the Bank cash-in on Alberto.

There is a mystery afoot in AAA. An eye logo has infiltrated the television stream. Not much is known yet. After Alberto’s qualifier win, the lights went out, all three participants were clobbered in darkness, then the eye symbol appeared on the big screen. Fingers were pointed to Konnan, because he used similar tactics in the past as a rudo.

To make this story more confusing, AAA appeared to have the reveal as Dorian Roldan at The Crash indie show in Tijuana. Pagano and Mecha Wolf might be his instruments of violence. It’s not clear yet how this all fits together. The second Triplemania XXXII stage will be in Tijuana on June 15.

The takeaway is Konnan shouldering the blame and how that might affect Vampiro. The two legends made amends for Vampiro’s retirement tour. Konnan consulted Zorro about prophecies. Zorro said that Konnan could trust Vamp. Zorro also said betrayal would be in Konnan’s future, but he wasn’t necessarily referring to Vampiro.

Vampiro has been the star of this year’s legends tour with final matches in various cities for his retirement. A common theme was making new friends among old rivals. Vamp and Konnan are on peachy terms right now. After Cibernetico saved Vampiro from Sam Adonis, Vamp wanted to team with Ciber one last time. Cibernetico made it clear that he doesn’t trust Vampiro. He only came out, because he was tired of hearing Adonis run his mouth about Mexico. Alberto, Pagano, Mecha Wolf, and Mesias also support Vampiro. The first three are general babyface associations to honor the legend. Mesias is watching Vamp’s back from Cibernetico. Also of note for Vampiro, he asked Konnan for a shot at the Mega Championship. Vamp never won that honor in his AAA career. Konnan promised to set that up at a later date.

In the women’s division, Lady Shani won the Reina de Reinas tournament over Faby Apache. They were attacked by Dalys after the match. La Caribeña is intent on battling Faby to prove who is the best. They were compared throughout their careers when Dayls was in CMLL and Faby in AAA.

Those are the primary stories for context heading into Triplemania XXXII Monterrey. Really, Triplemania shows are about having a good time as a viewer. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, and sometimes it’s so bad that it’s good. At AAA’s best, they can straddle on the right side of the line with all its wackiness.
