Mustafa Ali is fresh off victory retaining the X-Division Championship over Ace Austin at Under Siege. TNA’s next marquee event is Against All Odds in Chicago, IL on June 14. Ali will need a challenger for that PPV, so TNA got creative to determine a solution.
The main event of Impact (May 9, 2024) was a tag team bout between Ace Austin & Chris Bey and Mike Bailey & Trent Seven. The twist was for the winners. Whichever team emerges victorious, those partners will meet next week in singles action to become the #1 contender for the X-Division Championship at Against All Odds.

Speedball Mountain prevailed in the end, and Ace only has himself to blame. When ABC had momentum down the stretch, Ace lost focus to engage in trash talk with Ali seated at commentary. Ace squandered precious time. Once ABC went for a double-team finishing maneuver, the window was closed. Trent saved Bailey before execution from ABC. Speedball Mountain took control with a Burning Hammer and Ultima Weapon combo for Bailey to pin Ace to win.

“Speedball” Mike Bailey will wrestle Trent Seven next week on Impact for the right to challenge Mustafa Ali for the X-Division Championship at Against All Odds.
