A member of Novak Djokovic’s team leaves Nole to follow a rising star

on

The young Italian Lorenzo Musetti is trying to recover from a negative period with new additions to his team. As his new agent, the 23-year-old has chosen Edoardo Artaldi, historic manager together with his wife Elena Cappellaro, of Novak Djokovic, with whom he has collaborated for over 12 years.

The 36-year-old Serbian, who had ended his collaboration with the Italian agent in November, had thanked Artaldi and his wife with a message posted on Instagram.

“Dear Elena and Edoardo, It is difficult to describe everything we have experienced together for 13 years of collaboration in a single message. My appreciation and love for you two personally goes beyond any professional relationship.

What you have done for me and my family in private and the amount of care and empathy you have had over all these years especially towards my wife and children is something very special to me and I will never forget it.

Together, we created tennis history and achieved incredible heights in the sport. Your contribution to success is vital and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will always remain in my heart as dearest friends and part of my family. A biggest hug and lots of love,” Nole wrote.

Musetti tray to ‘escape’ from his black moment

Musetti just can’t recover and the results of this start of the season are rather merciless. Four wins in nine matches, which becomes eight in the last 27 counting last year’s finale, most of them against lower-ranked players.

The Italian hasn’t won two games in a row since September and doesn’t seem to give the impression of being able to put an end to this dark moment. Which is why Musetti recently decided to rely on Corrado Barazzutti, who has joined his coach Simone Tartarini in his technical staff since November.

To date, however, a choice that he has not paid off, neither in terms of results nor in terms of play. Now, a further attempt for Musetti to change the negative trend and return to expressing that level that he had seen him impose, in past years, against players such as the Serbian world number 1 himself, Carlos Alcaraz and Matteo Berrettini.
