2024 ST. LOUIS SUPERCROSS PRE-RACE REPORT: INJURED LIST, TV SCHEDULE & MORE

The next stop on the schedule is in ST. Louis Missouri in the 2024 Supercross series. Last weekend Cooper Webb was able to gain a few points last weekend in Seattle and now sits sixteen points from the lead. Jett had a crash in the main event which made him have to settle for a third. Also, Chase Sexton brought his points gap to the lead down to twenty-three which keeps him within one race from Jett Lawrence. In the 250 class, Levi Kitchen dominated last weekend and is looking to carry that momentum into St. Louis which is also a west round. RJ Hampshire moved into second after multiple mistakes from Jordon Smith and now only sits eight points behind the leader Levi Kitchen.

2024 ST. LOUIS SUPERCROSS // FULL COVERAGE

WEBB REGAINS VALUABLE POINTS

Cooper Webb got the job done when he needed it most. Though during the race, Jett Lawrence started around mid pack and made up ground on the leaders extrememly quick. But a mistake took him to the ground after running intto the back of Webb. Jett was the fastest on the track, but mistakes happen and thats what keeps this sport so entertaining. Cooper Webb needs to carry this momentum through the rest of the season if he wants to have a chance at being the 2024 champion.

ST. LOUIS IS A WEST ROUND

Though St.Louis Missouri is located in the center of the country it is still considered a west round and riders have packed their bags from the Pacific North West and have headed to the midwest. Levi Kitchen won last weekend in Seattle with a twenty second lead over the second positon. This is the largest win margin weve seen so far this season in the 250 and 450 classes. Jordon Smith was putting on pressure early in the race, but after mistakes that sent him to the ground began to take over, it allowed Kitchen to run away with the win. Levi Kitchen is sitting in a really good position headed into the weekend and the confidence from his previous win will be a big factor in continueing this momentum.

INJURED LIST:

DYLAN FERRANDIS – INFECTION

Dylan Ferrandis will be sidelined again this weekend as after getting sick last weekend it has turned into a lung infection and he has not been able to ride over the last few weeks. He is on the mend and we will hopefully see him next weekend.

JUSTIN HILL – RIBS

Justin Hill had a scary crash in Daytona where his bike stalled in between one of the rhythm sections and Freddie Noren landed on him. He posted on Instagram that he had broken some ribs and some irregularities in his vertebrae and that he would be receiving more tests. It is uncertain of his return at this time

DEAN WILSON – SCAPULA

Dean Wilson experienced a hard crash at the Daytona Supercross, unfortunately resulting in a broken scapula in his shoulder. Despite the setback, Dean expressed his determination to recover and make it to the last few rounds of Supercross. This news comes as a significant blow for Dean, especially considering that this season marks his farewell to Supercross.

GUILLEM FARRES – FEMUR

Guillem suffered a broken femur while training during the week leading up to the Daytona Supercross, he will be out for the foreseeable future.

Team Manager Nathan Ramsey states: “Guillem is one of the most liked riders in the industry that I have ever worked with. I am completely gutted that he had an unfortunate crash while testing at the Baker’s Factory. He is not only tough, but he is strong, and we will support him in every way to get him back at the races doing what he loves.”

AUSTIN FORKNER – BACK & SHOULDER

Austin had one of the scarier crashes we’ve seen in a while where he came up short entering a rhythm section which knocked his hand off the bars and sent him flying onto the infield concrete. As a result, he fractured his L3-L4 in his spine as well as a fractured scapula. Fortunately, his injuries did not require surgery, and is expected to make a full recovery. We are unsure of his expected return, but it will not be for the rest of the Supercross season.

ENZO LOPES – FOREARM

Enzo Lopes 2024 YamahaEnzo Lopes underwent “Arm Pump” surgery on his forearms, which is claimed to help improve blood flow to the arms. This type of surgery usually takes a few weeks to recover from but in Enzo’s case, it has been lingering over the last couple of months.

Enzo Lopes stated: “Riding for Star Racing comes with a lot of expectations, especially after my momentum from last season. Unfortunately, the cards we were dealt with this off-season were out of our control, and with that, we agreed on missing Round 1 so that I can be back to 100% soon. I am super bummed, but I know in the long run this will be the best decision for me and also the team.”

JETT REYNOLDS – SHOULDER (OUT FOR SEASON)

Jett Reynolds ClubMxJett Reynolds suffered an AC separation to his shoulder in qualifying at Detroit. Then, while training this week, he crashed again.

ClubMX updated Jett’s recovery status: “Jett is back in California recovering from his shoulder surgery and should be starting physical therapy soon. Until then, he has maintained a workout schedule for the rest of his body to stay ready when he returns to racing. No date has been set at this point.”

CHRISTIAN CRAIG – ELBOW

Christian Craig posted on Instagram that he had been riding with elbow pain throughout the majority of the season. He said that this pain has been progressively increasing. He will be getting some tests done in the upcoming week to diagnose the injury. We are unsure if he will be on track in Birmingham.

Christian Craig stated: “Bummed to say I will be missing the race today in Dallas. I’ve been dealing with elbow pain that’s progressively getting worse since the season started. I’ve tried to push through it but unfortunately, it’s to the point where I can’t hang on after a few laps. Going to get some scans done and see what’s going on.”

EVAN FERRY – SHOULDER

Evan Ferry had a crash during press day for the Arlington Supercross causing an injury to his shoulder, and will sit out from racing. It is not clear the extent of the injury or how long before he returns to racing.
