2024 PHILADELPHIA SUPERCROSS PRE-RACE REPORT: INJURED LIST, TV SCHEDULE & MORE

Heading to Philadelphia this weekend for the continuation of the 2024 Supercross series we look to find all the action from Nashville to be continued. With an extremely tight points race in the 450 class, Cooper Webb needs to do all he can to not let Jett Lawrence slip away. This will not be easy as Jett Lawrence was able to overcome the pressure last weekend and can most likely maintain it through this weekend. In the 250 class, Haiden Deegan needs to get some wins under his belt in order to put up a chance at Tom Vialle. For all the updates on this weekend’s racing, read down below.

2024 PHILADELPHIA SUPERCROSS // FULL COVERAGE

JETT LAWRENCE TAKES THE LEAD

Jett Lawrence regained the points lead this past weekend when he won the race in Nashville. Cooper Webb went into the event tied with the Honda rider but a third-place result put him at a five-point deficit. This win was necessary for Lawrence as he had been on a streak of bad luck in the prior weekends which allowed Cooper to catch up. Now Lawrence has momentum on his side going into the final races of the season.

TOM VIALLE TAKES THE POINTS LEAD

In Nashville, Cameron McAdoo who was the points leader heading into the event, struggled as a crash early led to a shoulder injury which ultimately caused him to not finish the main event. However Tom Vialle was able to grab a third-place finish in the East/West showdown which gave him a thirteen-point lead over Haiden Deegan and a sixteen-point lead over Cameron McAdoo. Now if Tom Vialle can stay fairly mistake-free in the next couple of rounds he should be able to bring home the championship.

INJURED LIST:

KEN ROCZEN – LEG

Ken Roczen - 2024 Nashville Supercross-1-15Ken Roczen had a scary crash this past weekend in Nashville when his shock blew apart on the landing of the triple heading into the whoops he then was ejected from the motorcycle through the whoops resulting in a leg injury.

Ken Roczen states: “Alright, after further evaluation it looks like I will be out for a little bit. It turns out I broke my tib plateau, my foot, and my toe. No surgery is required as of right now but we are still gathering some information and further evaluation. That’s really all I have for now. Bye bye SX24 you were pretty cool! My fans and partners, you guys make it super fun and it’s a joy coming to the races and get that support you guys give us.”

CAMERON MCADOO – SHOULDER

Cameron McAdoo came together with another rider in timed qualifying resulting in a shoulder injury, he then reaggravated this injury when he crashed in the main event and was unable to finish the race. It is unclear if Cameron will be returning to racing or just focusing on motocross.

Cameron McAdoo states: “Unfortunately yesterday during qualifying while on a roll lap another rider and I came together damaging my shoulder. I did everything in my power to race the main last night but it just wasn’t possible to finish safely. I will be further evaluated this week to find out the extent of it and will update everyone accordingly. It’s very easy to resort to “why me?” but I’ve learned that way of thinking never encourages progress to get where I want to be. Thank you to all of my partners and fans for the continued support.”

AARON PLESSINGER – ELBOW

Aaron Plessinger had a scary crash when getting cross-rutted on the landing of a triple in Foxborough. Aaron attempted to ride the qualifying sessions but ultimately pulled off due to the severity of pain in his elbow. He confirmed this week that he did end up breaking his elbow and will be out for the foreseeable future.

MICHAEL MOSIMAN – BACK

Micheal Mosiman was unfortunately landed on in one of the main events in St. Louis injuring his back in the crash. He will sit out Nashville but is looking to make a return to racing at Denver.

DYLAN FERRANDIS – INFECTION

Dylan Ferrandis will be sidelined again this weekend. He was sick last weekend it has turned into a lung infection and he has not been able to ride over the last few weeks. He is on the mend but still has not confirmed a return date.

GUILLEM FARRES – FEMUR

Guillem suffered a broken femur while training for the Daytona Supercross, he will be out for the foreseeable future.

Team Manager Nathan Ramsey states: “Guillem is one of the most liked riders in the industry that I have ever worked with. I am completely gutted that he had an unfortunate crash while testing at the Baker’s Factory. He is not only tough, but he is strong, and we will support him in every way to get him back at the races doing what he loves.”

AUSTIN FORKNER – BACK & SHOULDER

Austin had one of the scarier crashes we’ve seen in a while when he came up short entering a rhythm section which knocked his hand off the bars and sent him flying onto the infield concrete. As a result, he fractured his L3-L4 in his spine as well as a fractured scapula. Fortunately, his injuries did not require surgery, and he is expected to make a full recovery. We are unsure of his expected return, but it will not be for the rest of the Supercross season.

ENZO LOPES – FOREARM

Enzo Lopes 2024 YamahaEnzo Lopes underwent “Arm Pump” surgery on his forearms, which is claimed to help improve blood flow to the arms. This type of surgery usually takes a few weeks to recover from, but in Enzo’s case, it has been lingering over the last couple of months.

Enzo Lopes said, “Riding for Star Racing comes with a lot of expectations, especially after my momentum from last season. Unfortunately, the cards we were dealt with this off-season were out of our control, and with that, we agreed on missing some rounds so I could be back at 100% soon. I am super bummed, but I know in the long run this will be the best decision for me and also the team.”

JEREMY MARTIN – COMPLICATIONS FROM HIS CRASH EARLY IN SEASON

Jeremy Martin has decided not to ride the remainder of the 250 East Supercross season due to complications from his crash at round one in Detroit. Jeremy is focusing on his health and beginning preparation for the upcoming motocross season.

Jeremy Martin states: “I am incredibly disappointed to have to make this decision but when it comes to my health and my future, it is the right move. I struggled having to tell the team, but they were completely supportive knowing everything that I have gone through.”

CHRISTIAN CRAIG – ELBOW

Christian Craig posted on Instagram that he had been riding with elbow pain throughout the majority of the season. He said that this pain has been progressively increasing. He will be getting some tests done and there is no date announced for his return. Christian said, “I’ve been dealing with elbow pain that’s progressively getting worse since the season started. I’ve tried to push through it but unfortunately, it’s to the point where I can’t hang on after a few laps.”

EVAN FERRY – SHOULDER

Evan Ferry had a crash during press day for the Arlington Supercross causing an injury to his shoulder, and will sit out from racing. It is not clear the extent of the injury or how long before he returns to racing.
