Another move up the board

The Minnesota Vikings have made another move up the draft board, this time swinging a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Vikings have moved up to the #17 overall pick, which they used to select Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner. In exchange, the Jaguars received #23 overall, pick #167, a 2023 third-round pick, and a 2023 fourth-round pick.

This is another huge trade for the Vikings, as they’ve now acquired the player that many thought was the top edge player on the board going into this draft. He’s going to have the opportunity to work into Brian Flores’ defense along with newly-acquired Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel to generate some pass rush for the purple.

The Vikings are now not on the board again until pick #108 in the fourth round, unless they manage to make some sort of a deal between now and then to acquire more picks.

We’ll have more on the Vikings’ selection here shortly!
