Who is the New MultiVersus Batman Voice Actor?

on

With the new re-release of MultiVersus as a more polished game, fans have a lot to look forward to. The characters are getting new designs with fresh takes and a change to their moves. However, one part of the re-release is a bit more melancholy. Kevin Conroy, the long-time voice of Batman, has passed away. So, what does this mean for the MultiVersus Batman voice? We’ve gotten confirmation of a new voice joining the series for the Joker, but who voices Batman in MultiVersus now?

The game hasn’t quite come back yet. But plenty of it has been shown off, including how the new MultiVersus rollback is going to work. That’s along with some recent additions to the voice cast. Given lines are already recorded but no more can be completed, is the MultiVersus Batman voice actor changing?

Who Voices Batman in MultiVersus?

Batman in MultiVersus is voiced by Kevin Conroy, at least he has been until this point. Conroy was Batman in pretty much everything outside of live-action movies for the last few decades. Starting with the now iconic Animated Series, he became the go-to Batman Voice Actor when MultiVersus was released. Over the years he’s pretty much defined the role, and a lot of fans have a hard time imagining a different voice coming from the Caper Crusader.

That’s who voices Batman in MultiVersus to date, but Kevin Conroy unfortunately passed away in 2022. This has left the character’s future voice a bit more uncertain. A new MultiVersus Batman voice actor is yet to be announced, and we think at the moment that the MultiVersus character roster will be using archive recording.

Notably, Mark Hamil will be voicing the Joker in MultiVersus. Hamil has largely only appeared opposite Conroy, and it seems this will continue with the return of MultiVersus.

Will the MultiVersus Batman Voice Actor Get Replaced?

It looks like when MultiVersus comes back, it’ll still feature Kevin Conroy voice clips. What about the future though? A lot of fans would rather Conroy remains the voice of Batman, and understandably. Especially considering he’s already done voice work for this game.

Outside of MultiVersus-specific lines, there’s an enormous archive of Kevin Conroy Batman lips. This is a fighting game, not an audio drama. It’s unlikely we’ll run out of Conroy Batman clips for MultiVersus’ lifetime. It’ll possible they recast in the eventual future when they need a very specific voice line. However, for most of the game, it looks like Conroy’s Batman will continue to be the one featured.

For long-time fans, it’s great to see Kevin Conroy version of the character sticking around for the long haul. Since the MultiVersus voice cast already features characters made up entirely by archive recording, it wouldn’t be strange to see this Batman sticking around for MultiVersus’ lifespan.
