Alcatraz was removed from the game in March 2024, right before the release of Warzone Mobile. As a result, many players speculated if this was a move to push players away from the game and into the new BR title. Notably, the map is available in Warzone Mobile as Rebirth Island.
After a wide scale outage, however, CoD Mobile released a statement reassuring fans that the map’s removal was a routine playlist rotation. With such a large number of modes and maps in CoD Mobile, Activision rotates them every season. Activision reassured fans that it was committed to bringing new content to CoD Mobile like it used to.

When will Alcatraz return to CoD Mobile?

Alcatraz is set to return to CoD Mobile later in 2024, Activision has confirmed in a community update on Reddit. The developer said, however, that it doesn’t currently have a timeline on when this will happen.
“Once we have more details on its [Alcatraz] return, we will share it with you all,” the developer said in its statement.
Nonetheless, the confirmation of the map’s return is good news for players. CoD Mobile gets a new season every month. Thus, there are chances of the map’s return in every new season of 2024. In the meantime, you can play the new seasonal content being released with more modes, maps, and weapons.
