Meko and Morgan are back to break down all things Terrion Arnold and the Detroit Lions fan experience on Day 1.

He did it again. Ever since Detroit Lions’ general manager Brad Holmes arrived in 2021, draft days in Detroit have become somewhat unpredictable. Drafts are inherently unpredictable, but there is another level at which Holmes seems to operate at.

After beginning the night sitting at 29th overall, Holmes saw a run of offensive players being drafted early that began to push down some of the more highly-touted defensive prospects. And for a while, Holmes sat patiently, before making the trade with the football team in Dallas to move up and select University Of Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold.

To put it simply, Arnold is going to come in and right away will be pushing for the outside cornerback spot opposite Carlton Davis III.

My good friend Meko Scott and I broke down the Lions’ decision to trade up to draft Arnold, and how it affects the rest of the defense—both in the 2024 season, and beyond. On top of discussing Arnold now being a Lion, we touched on our experience downtown yesterday, as well as how great a job the Lions did with their season ticket holders watch party at Ford Field.

In general, the city did a fantastic job of organizing a plan for the draft, and executing said plan. Outside of the stage area that reached maximum capacity on Thursday, there were a ton of things to do in the surrounding areas of downtown. Food trucks, live music, as well as local Detroit businesses were all over, and it never felt like it was too much.

Well done, Detroit. Also, big shoutout to Mother Nature for cooperating weather-wise for the first two days of the draft.
