Wrestling Resurgence’s X

Sad news from Revolution Pro Wrestling today (Dec. 29), as the promotion shared that wrestler Kurt Chapman has died at just 26 years old. Chapman has wrestled for a number of prominent independents in the United Kingdom and abroad since debuting for RevPro back in 2014 when he just 16, but the London-based promotion was the one he was most often associated with.

We, at Revolution Pro Wrestling are absolutely heartbroken to report the loss of our dear friend Kurtis Chapman.

We watched Kurtis grow from a child to a young man who loved professional wrestling and continued to excel in all aspects of his life.

One of the most gifted technical wrestlers, charismatic characters and magnetic personalities.

He will never be forgotten.

Chapman won RevPro’s British Cruiserweight title in 2017, headlining a division which included names like former NXT UK & current Impact talent Flash Morgan Webster and New Japan’s El Phantasmo. In recent years, he developed the “Mad Kurt” gimmick in which he profanely talked trash online about rivals (basically a more entertaining version of a certain type of internet fan) before putting them over in the ring. His last match was this past June for Wrestling Resurgence, where he successfully defended that promotion’s Arthouse championship.

That promotion reposted RevPro’s announcement, adding their own farewell:

Everyone at Wrestling Resurgence is devastated to hear the news about Kurt.

Kurt represented everything that was great about wrestling, both sides of the curtain.

Our deepest condolences to everyone affected by this loss.

RIP Kurt.

At this time, there’s no information about the case or circumstances of Chapman’s death.

Our thoughts are with Chapman’s family, friends, and anyone who is missing him today. May he rest in peace.
