Triple H says WWE Speed will eventually feature women’s matches

Triple H’s X

It’s been about a month since the premiere of WWE Speed, the show/concept featuring matches with three minute time limits that runs exclusively on Twitter/X. It seems to be a success too, averaging in the neighborhood of two million views per episode based on the social media platform’s numbers.

The initial batch of episodes have featured a tournament to crown the first Speed champion. The latest episode dropped today (May 1) and features Johnny Gargano defeating Bronson Reed to advance to Friday’s final against Ricochet (matches are taped in advance and spoilers for the title match can be found here).

But then what? WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque spoke about Speed and other topics during a Spaces session on X this afternoon. He didn’t offer much in terms of their future plans, but did mention that women will be featured on Speed at some point:

“It makes for an exciting challenge for the guys. It makes for an exciting challenge for eventually what will be the women as well. So far, it’s been spectacular. The talent have really embraced this and gotten into the challenge of it. It’s been exciting for them and our fans as well.”

That’s resurfaced a joke that was frequently made when the show’s time limits were announced about how WWE’s women are used to only being given three minutes for matches… but it addresses the more serious issue talent like Piper Niven had when WWE Speed was announced:

When will see the first women’s match on WWE Speed? Will the ladies get their own belt?
