Despite a decrease in the number of golfers in the world top 1000 between 2022 and 2023, France retains its status as a powerful nation in world golf. At the European level, only England and Sweden surpass French gentlemen.

The United States is far ahead, with 312 players among the top 1000 golfers in the world. France comes in 9th position among the best represented countries, ahead of Spain, Denmark, Scotland and Germany.

With 27 players compared to 31 in 2022, the French golfers are one of the three best European countries with England (63 players) and Sweden (35 players).

The Japanese (85), the South Koreans (70) are next behind the Americans. South Africa (67), which lost 15 players, leaves the podium. The Australians (50) are also losing momentum, losing 10 players in this “world elite”. The Swedes are 7th ahead of the Thais (32), the French and the Spanish (24).

If we focus on the top 500, the 15 French golfers allow France to be tied with Spain in 8th position, one unit behind the Swedes.

However, with only two players ranked among the 100 best in the world, France is falling in the international rankings. However, thanks to the arrival of Matthieu Pavon at the end of the year alongside Victor Perez, the Blues managed to stay in the top 10.

The United States still largely dominates the rankings with 47 players, far ahead of England (7) and Australia (6) who complete the podium.

South Korea and Canada have 5 representatives, followed by Japan and Sweden in 6th place with 4 players each. South Africa and Denmark follow with 3 golfers in the top 100. France shares 10th place with Spain and Ireland.

Northern Ireland, Norway, Austria, New Zealand, Argentina, Poland, Chile, Scotland, Belgium and Germany round out the top 100, each with one ranked player.
