Yashasvi Bhupendra Kumar Jaiswal was born to a small hardware store owner on 28th December 2001 in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.
Yashasvi moved to Dadar in Mumbai at the age of ten to receive cricket training at Azad Maidan.
Later he relocated to Kalbadevi, where he was given accommodation in a dairy shop in return for low-grade work.
However, Yashavi couldn’t give much time to the work due to his training and was eventually ejected by the owner.
After being left homeless, the left-handed batter stayed in tents with the groundsmen of the Azad Maidan and sold panipuri for a living.
In 2013 Yashasvi’s talent was recognized by cricket coach Jwala Singh, who became his legal guardian and provided him with a place to stay.
Yashasvi’s career took huge turn in 2015 when he scored 319 not out and took 13/99 in a Giles Shield match in school cricket.
Following his sensational performance, he was selected for Mumbai under-16 squad.
Yashasvi’s first-class debut for Mumbai came on 7 January 2019 in the Ranji Trophy. Meanwhile, his List A debut came in September later that year.
At the age of 17 years, 292 days, he became the youngest cricketer to smash a double century in the history of List A cricket.
He also went on to represent Indian U-19 in Asia Cup and World Cup later.
Yashasvi was roped in by the Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchise in the IPL 2020 players’ auction.
On 30 April 2023, he etched his name into the history books and became the fourth youngest player to register a century in IPL history.
