The results are in for the 2024 Pick-3 draft prediction contest!!

Yet another year of unabated draft contest excitement

The 2024 (eighth annual) Pick-3 draft prediction contest was yet another installment in the history of the annual Hogs Haven draft extravaganza!

After setting an all-time record in 2023 with 75 entrants, the contest soared to new heights this year with 98 entrants!

The contest also reached its scoring peak, with 1,748 points scored. For the first time in the history of the contest, every single entrant got on the scoreboard.

Among the other contest records that were broken:

• New high score by a single entrant – 54 points (Waltdeez, in second place, tied the previous record of 51 points, set by Marooook! in 2018)
• The number of entrants earning 25 points for correctly predicting the player and the round for the team’s 7th round pick shattered all previous contest results with 14 entrants correctly identifying Javontae Jean-Baptiste as the team’s final pick in the draft.

Here are the results for all of the entrants who scored above 25 points in this year’s contest:

As always, if I have made a mistake in anyone’s score, please feel free to let me know in the comments or via email and I will adjust your score with apologies. I use a spreadsheet and rely on manual scanning to identify correct answers as my supercomputer is in the shop for repair this week, and mistakes are possible with 98 entrants making 27 predictions each.

Both Panamon28 and Waltdeez (the 2022 contest winner) predicted 5 of Washington’s 9 draft picks. The difference in scores for the two entrants was that Panamon28 predicted 4 players in the correct round, while the number of correct rounds was 3 for Waltdeez. SlingerOfPoo was one of only two other entrants to correctly predict 3 players in the exact round they were chosen. DCLrocks matched the gold and silver medalists by being one of only 2 other entrants to predict 5 Commanders draft picks, but he fell to 4th place as the only one in the top-15 not to hit on the 7th round selection. The other entrant to predict 5 draft picks was Skrimpnutts, but his inability to foresee Jean-Baptiste as the team’s ultimate draft pick kept him out of the running for top honors.

I want to thank all 98 Hogs Haven readers who took the time to put together entries for the eighth annual Pick-3 contest. It literally couldn’t have happened without you. I hope you had fun and that it added just a little extra spice to your 2024 NFL Draft experience.

As always, the prize for winning this contest is an open invitation to a night out on the town in beautiful Bangkok, Thailand. All Panamon28 needs to do is get himself to Bangkok (with at least a week’s advance notice) and I will pay for a night of drinks at the bar(s) of his choice. To date, none of the previous winners have claimed their prize, but they remain valid. The prizes expire when I do.

With nine total picks in the 2024 draft, the Washington Commanders added talent to their roster and took another huge step forward in building the foundation for the Harris/Peters/Quinn era.

The roster-building work isn’t done, however. I look forward to seeing which UDFAs and veteran free agents the team adds in the coming days and weeks as we prepare for another entertaining offseason and another great season of Washington football to follow!
