The Detroit racetrack is the fifth round of the AMA 450 Supercross Championship and the first round of the AMA 250 East Supercross Championship. The track starts with a left-hand first turn that goes immediately into two rhythm sections, followed by the only whoop section. The final rhythm section leads back onto the start straight. Normally day races are less than stellar, but since Ford Field has an enclosed roof, the dirt should stay good from the 3:00 p.m. (Eastern) start to the end of the 450 main around 6:00 p.m.
