Day one of the 2024 NFL Draft is in the books and the Detroit Lions walked out of the first round with a player who can immediately make an impact on the roster. In our latest SB Nation Reacts survey, we ask the question…

How would you grade the Lions’ selection of CB Terrion Arnold with the 24th overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft?

Arnold is an exciting player who many believed wouldn’t be available at this stage in the draft. Most analysts ranked Arnold in the top half of the draft and considered him the best corner in this draft class. On my personal Lions-based draft board, I not only ranked Arnold as the best corner fit for Detroit, but he was the highest-rated defensive player fit in my rankings.

When the opportunity to acquire Arnold became available, the Lions executed a trade with the Dallas Cowboys and moved up from pick No. 29 to pick No. 24 to select him. The cost to acquire Arnold was a swap of first-round picks, along with the Lions including pick No. 73 (a third-round pick) and the Cowboys will be sending a 2025 seventh-round pick in return to complete the trade. Because the trade was part of the deal to acquire Arnold, you should include that as part of the grade.

It’s time to vote!
