Speed, the new show WWE produces exclusively for Twitter/X featuring matches with three minute time limits, has been coming our way on Wednesdays for the past few weeks.

The matches/episodes released so far have focused on a tournament to crown the first ever WWE Speed champion. In the latest one, Ricochet continued his dominant run by beating JD McDonagh to advance to the title match. Next Wednesday we’ll see Johnny Gargano take on Big Bronson Reed in the other semi-final.

Reed vs. Gargano is already taped, and if you want to know the outcome of that match and the one after it… read on.

Last warning. SPOILERS follow. Okay…

The tournament final/title match was filmed after SmackDown last night (April 26) in Cincinnati. Gargano was Ricochet’s opponent, but Johnny Wrestling couldn’t stop the roll The One And Only has been on.

With his third victory of the tournament (he beat Dragon Lee in round one), Ric is the first-ever WWE Speed champion and has a new belt to take home to Samantha Irvin

All the shots floating around the wrestle web are pretty grainy, so we’ll withhold judgment until we get a better look at the new belt. First impressions, though? It reminds us a lot more of the defunct 24/7 strap than it does the new WWE Tag Team ones.

Let us what know what you think — of the champ, the title, or the concept in general — in the comments below, Cagesider.
