Skye Blue grateful for response to creepy fan harassing her at ROH taping

We don’t know, nor do we need, specifics on the comments made toward AEW wrestler Skye Blue by someone at Wednesday night’s Ring of Honor taping in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that led to the so-called fan being kicked out of Rogers Place.

In calling attention to whatever the attendee said, Blue’s opponent Rachael Ellering referred to their comments as “sexual harassment”. Aubrey Edwards, who was refereeing the match, said the remarks directed at Blue were “disgusting, vile, hateful”.

That’s more than enough to support the decision to call out the bad behavior and ensure there were consequences for the person responsible.

It was meaningful for Blue, not only for herself but for the precedent it set. She told us as much in a tweet sent early Friday (May 10):

I’m beyond overwhelmed with all the love and support. Thank you everyone you have no idea how much it’s appreciated

Let’s make sure the future generations of women wrestlers don’t have to deal with this shit.

To the first part, we’re glad there’s a positive out of what was otherwise a crappy (if sadly probably not unfamiliar) experience for Blue. To the second part… amen.
