Will recent trend continue this week?

The Las Vegas Raiders have invested at the wide receiver through the draft at a bigger rate than most teams in recent years.

According to a recent tweet by NFL analyst Warren Sharp, the Raiders have invested the 14th most draft capital in the league in the past five years. Here is the complete list:

The Raiders used a third-round pick on wide receiver Tre Tucker in 2023, a first-round pick on Henry Ruggs and a third-round pick on Bryan Edwards in 2020 and a fifth-round pick on Hunter Renfrow in 2019. Only Tucker remains on the Las Vegas roster.

Of course, in 2022, the Raiders traded first and second round picks to Green Bay to for wide receiver Davante Adams. Sharp’s list didn’t count trades, but the Raiders did spend draft capital to acquire Adams, who, of course, is still on the team.

Wide receiver is not a huge draft need, but the Raiders have been visiting with some receivers, so it’s plausible they use another pick at the position at some point this week.
