Draft night social-media reaction was strong
Most Las Vegas Raiders fans were in shock (as he was as well) when the franchise took Georgia tight end Brock Bowers in the first round of the NFL draft last Thursday night with the No. 13 overall pick.
The team didn’t have a huge need at tight end, plus they had of other pressing needs.
Still, the Raiders went the best-available-player route and nailed Bowers. The initial reaction on social media was confusion. But it quickly turned to happiness and approval. In fact, it was among the best in the NFL among fan bases.
According to The Sports Geek, the Raiders’ selection of Bowers registered as the sixth most positive social-media reaction in the NFL as sixty percent of social-media posts about the pick was positive.
The Chicago Bears’ choices of USC quarterback Caleb Williams at No. 1 and Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze at No. 9 led the league in positive posts at 82 percent.
I bet once Raiders’ fans see Bowers do his thing in the Silver and Black the approval rate will continue to rise.
