The New England Patriots picked up a total of 19 players in the NFL Draft and the subsequent rookie free agency period. Among those were four participants in this year’s East-West Shrine Bowl.

On Monday, Shrine Bowl director of football operations and player personnel Eric Galko took to the app formerly known as Twitter to give a quick-hit scouting report on the quartet. He called offensive tackle Caedan Wallace, a polarizing selection in the third round, as a “starting OT” while referring to sixth-round defensive back Marcellas Dial as “a key DB contributor.”

Wallace and Dial were the only Shrine Bowl participants drafted by the Patriots. The other two rookie players who participated in the college football showcase went undrafted: running back Deshaun Fenwick and cornerback Mikey Long.

Whereas the Patriots actively participated in the Shrine Bowl last year, coaching one of the teams, they were more passive in 2024. Nonetheless, they seemingly still gathered enough information to acquire Wallace, Dial, Fenwick and Long.
