Cordeiro is the first UDFA from the 2024 class to be let go by the Seahawks.

The Seattle Seahawks are back down to Geno Smith and Sam Howell at the quarterback position.

Former Hawaii and San Jose State quarterback Chevan Cordeiro, signed by Seattle as an undrafted free agent, was released by the team on Wednesday. No other transactions were made.

Having not selected a QB in last month’s NFL Draft, the Seahawks added Cordeiro as part of their UDFA class. They also invited Taulia Tagovailoa (brother of Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa) and Kory Curtis to rookie minicamp, but neither one of them turned a tryout invite into a contract.

Presumably we’ll see the Seahawks bring in a quarterback ahead of OTAs, which begin on May 20.

Cordeiro is the first Seahawks UDFA signing to be released. Seattle is now down to 88 players on the 90-man roster. I trust your math skills are strong enough to figure out how many open spots they have available.
