Even though reports have indicated that Geno Smith is adamant he wants to play, it’s more and more looking like it will be Drew Lock under center for the second straight game.

Monday night at Lumen Field the Seattle Seahawks will host the Philadelphia Eagles with both teams potentially starting their backup quarterbacks.

On the Eagles side, starter Jalen Hurts has been battling an illness, which could lead to Philadelphia starting Marcus Mariota. For the Seahawks, Geno Smith suffered a groin injury in practice ahead of the matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, and that led to the first start of Drew Lock’s time in Seattle.

Now, with injury issues potentially sidelining Smith and strong safety Jamal Adams, the Seahawks have elevated quarterback Sean Mannion and safety Ty Okada from the practice squad.

Mannion has appeared in fourteen games during his time in the NFL, including one start for the Los Angeles Rams and a pair of starts for the Minnesota Vikings. It’s also the second time this season that Okada has been elevated, after making his NFL debut against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11.
