Giulia’s X

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Along with the other executive cuts WWE made last week, Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics report that Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Beth Fisher was released last week.
  • Regarding the report about Giulia debuting for WWE at July’s NXT Heatwave show, Wrestling Observer Newsletter heard from those close to Giulia as well as WWE and Marigold sources that she isn’t starting with that soon. It was said she wouldn’t be in NXT full-time until all the necessary paperwork is done for Giulia, her boyfriend & her mother to move to Florida.
  • The WON’s Dave Meltzer included a caveat that wrestlers are often told to lie about their debut dates, and pointed out that Giulia could work Heatwave without her U.S. immigration documentation being finalized since the show is in Canada.
  • Corey Brennan of Fightful Select, who brought us the original Heatwave report, says the plan has long been for Giulia to “begin in NXT as an attraction before officially starting” and to “continue to work Marigold simultaneously with WWE”. Brennan reiterated that the Heatwave date was always a target depending on Giulia’s Marigold schedule.
  • As far as an opponent for NXT Women’s champion Roxanne Perez at Battleground this weekend, Fightful heard NXT officials were interested in bringing in Tegan Nox for that spot.
  • There have been creative pitches for Megan Bayne to “re-debut” in AEW. Most of these have involved Bayne playing a heel.
  • WWE has abandoned an attempt to trademark “Big Time Becks”.
  • On The Von Erichs Podcast, Marshall Von Erich said that he & brother Ross have “been in conversations with both companies”. Kevin Von Erich’s sons say they haven’t signed anything, but, “Good news is coming. It’s a good month to be a Von Erich.”
