Rhea Ripley vacates women’s world championship due to injury

She will be missing significant time.

The nightmare scenario is a reality.

Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley opened this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw to confirm the rumors and reports, that she has suffered an injury that is going to keep her on the shelf for long enough that she is being forced to vacate the title. The fans in Montreal responded to this with a loud “Bullshit” chant.

“Yeah, it is,” she responded.

This sucks.

She talked about how much the title means to her before gently setting it down in the ring. She then cut a promo on Liv Morgan for her attack last week, claiming the injury wouldn’t be the only thing keeping her out because she was going to do enough to get arrested right here tonight.

That didn’t happen, of course, at least not as of this writing. Instead, Morgan showed up to gloat, laughing at her behind security guards.

Now we await word of how WWE will determine a new champion.
